It was 2yrs ago on Labor Day. Derick and I met after the wine tour in Livermore, at our mutual friend Amy's house for another good time with good friends. Ben & Derick showed up to join us. As I was leaving, Derick introduced himself to me and asked if I wanted to audition for the band they were going to start. All the thanks go to Amy for suggesting to them that I would be the one up for the challenge. Derick gave me his ph# and said to call so we could meet the next week at his house with the band to play. We discussed the songs and had an easy time with coversation from the start. The band worked well together and we have been playing for fun ever since. Right away I fell in love with Derick's sparkling blue eyes and his gorgeous smile. He was so polite and respectful with a constant sense of humor that you could not help but love. After just a few practices together saying a quick goodbye at the end was getting harder. Derick would walk me outside to my car and we would talk and get to know each other more. We had our first kiss after Saturday practice and I will never forget how we shut the world out by ignoring the phone calls and plans that we had previously made with friends and family just so we could enjoy the moment and the good feelings we felt for each other. This has been the best 2 years. I have no complaints and our love just keeps on getting stronger and better each day. On the 2yr anniversary of the day we met , Derick & I planned a get a way to Half Moon Bay. We stayed at a romantic Bed & Breakfast on Main Street. We enjoyed the day walking along the streets window shopping. We enjoyed a really nice dinner that night as we toasted to "The Best Weekend Ever" Little did I know it was about to get even better. After dinner we enjoyed the breeze out on the balcony of our upstairs private suite as we sipped champagne in the candle light. Derick got one one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in shock then threw my arms around him as I cried and smiled ear to ear, I had almost forgot to look at the ring. We went inside to put the ring on my finger and the diamond sparkled so bright. Derick could not have picked a more perfect ring for me. I have been on cloud nine. we are both enjoying the engagement and making our plans to be together for the rest of our lives. I feel soo blessed and thankful to experience this once in a lifetime kind of love with such a good man.
