Hmmm where to start...
Darrell and I were introduced by mutual friends Rebecca and Mark.... I was helping Rebecca paint her new home and Mark had been hanging out with Darrell when Mark came home and introduced us.... Lets just say from a girls point of view it was not my most glamorous moment... I was covered in paint... After many fun game nights we went out on our first date. It was a Saturday of sushi, roller skating , and America's Funniest Home videos... I (Melissa) was smitten after that....
The proposal.... Darrell had planned a birthday suprise trip for me and wouldn't let me in on any of the details. We ended up heading down to southern california (his old stoppin grounds), where we stayed at the Madonna Inn. The day after my birthday he told me that the suprise wasn't over yet... He then took me to Hearst Castle where we went on a tour, it was amazing, and beautiful. Then he proceded to tell me there was something else we were doing, a sunset tour. It was so amazing seeing everything on the top of the hill at sunset... On both tours we really enjoyed the beautiful pools indoor, and out... After the private sunset tour Darrell led me over to the outdoor pool where he proceeded to tell me to close my eyes. Once he told me I could open them he was down on one knee, and thats when he asked me the question every girl dreams about... "Will you marry me?" I was suprised to say the least... Now to give you a better picture Darrell's back was to the water and after he asked me in my over enthusiastic yes I almost tackeled him into the pool... Don't worry we stayed dry... It was a perfect ending to a perfect day :) |
